Teen Design and Adults
Teen Design Program
slideshow photos by Smita Parida Photography
The Artisan exclusive Teen Design Program offers sewing skills that build to advanced techniques. The class size consists of no more than four students promoting a detailed learning environment at your own pace. Students will not only complete sewing projects in the studio, but also be encouraged to utilize their newly acquired skills to complete work independently at home.
In addition to basic skills of operating a sewing machine, students will learn proper measurement taking, pattern adjustment and pattern drafting, interpreting a design sketch, zipper insertion, buttonhole creation, inside finishing techniques, linings and much more! This class is ongoing throughout the school year and in the summer. For those who wish to prepare a portfolio for design school applications, we focus on the specific school requirements. While it is NOT a portfolio class, or art class, (we recommend taking art classes in order to enhance your design skills) we are familiar with several fashion school requirements and have helped prospective students prepare to apply. Please contact us if you are interested in this program as space is limited. |

Student Stories
Several of our students have come in wanting to learn fast and apply to fashion schools. Learning has taken on different forms, but all of these students also have taken art classes.
Savannah is attending University of Cincinnati in Fall 2023 The slide show is of her last big project at Artisan: Her senior prom dress from design to final! Lucienne was accepted to Parsons School of Design in New York with scholarship for Fall 2019.
The pictures are of some of her designs we worked on, as she built skills and sewing confidence. She even took a portion of a painting she did and had it printed onto fabric for a slip dress! Learning pleats, covered seams, silky fabrics and more. Follow her clothing brand on Instagram @qquestenne |

Nick will be attending Parsons School of Design Fall 2020 with scholarship. He has shown a mini collection on a local runway, continues to design and allow internet influencers to wear his pieces for continued exposure of his brand.
His work has been inspired by many things including construction and tech for his streetwear line. Follow his clothing brand on Instagram @ivankirzonov |

Grace will be attending Stevenson University Fall 2021 with scholarship. She continues learning the pattern design process and preparing pieces with history, tradition and modern techniques.
